Muralism Workshop / Bamako, Mali

à l’invitation de l’Institut Français du Mali

The workshop led by Sébastien Bouchard in April 2023 allowed the ten participating Malian artists to discover all the stages of creating a large-scale collective fresco. From design through graphic research to completion, everyone contributed their stone to the building under a sun that approached 40°. The result is a fresco created on the perimeter wall of the French Institute, which borders the lively Koura district of Bamako. A limited color palette allowed for the integration of the most diverse artistic expressions, including naive, realistic, and symbolic representations.
