BNP Paribas Foundation / Grands Moulins de Pantin, France – September 2024
Sébastien Bouchard was invited by the BNP Paribas Foundation to celebrate its 40th anniversary to design a portrait of conductor Zahia Ziouani for the facade of the Grands Moulins de Pantin, a former industrial building that currently houses the headquarters of BNP Paribas.
This inspiring woman, one of the (too) rare female conductors (3%) from Pantin, works to bring classical music to working-class neighborhoods. She recently distinguished herself by conducting her orchestra Divertimento at the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games.
This mural project, intended as a colorful and vibrant tribute to her remarkable career, took six months from the initial photo shoot to the installation on the building, including the painting of the portrait in the studio.
