Portrait of Diariata Ndiaye

Sébastien Bouchard was invited by the BNP Foundation to celebrate its 40th anniversary to create a portrait of Diariata Ndiaye, a slam poet committed to combating sexist and sexual violence. She is co-founder of the Resonantes association and creator of the App-Elles application, a tool for women who are victims of violence.

Portrait of Zahia Ziouani
Grands Moulins de Pantin, France – september 2024
Sébastien Bouchard was invited by the BNP Paribas Foundation on the occasion of its 40th anniversary to design a portrait of conductor Zahia Ziouani on the facade of the Grands Moulins de Pantin, a former industrial building, now the headquarters of BNP Paribas.

Mise à L’eau | Venelles Municipal School

This fresco was created as part of an urban art trail at the invitation of the city of Venelles (13). A young girl blows on her paper boat to launch it onto the waves, guided by a compass rose and an old nautical chart.
Le plus grand des voyages | Chaumes-en-Retz, France – 2024

mural created in collaboration with the artist Tanala at the invitation of the VTR ART association as part of the construction of an Urban Art trail in the commune of Chaumes en Retz. This is the second time that Sébastien Bouchard has been invited to work in this area, the first mural was created in 2023 on the facade of the Espace Culturel Jean Lemoine (see here)

“Oceanic Dreams” / private commission

At the request of the owners of this seaside house, Sébastien Bouchard created a portrait of plankton-like hair facing the ocean. A work offered to all, as it is directly visible to the residents and locals of the Kerlédé district of Saint-Nazaire.
“Equilibre” – series of murals
French Institute of Bamako / Mali
2 collective murals in a street in the Bamako Koura district, a fresco in the grounds of the IF: this is the result of the 15-day residency in Bamako, invited by the French Institute of Mali to lead a muralism workshop for the benefit of local artists.
“Oudah” / Nouvelle Chaumière

At the invitation of the creators of this third place, Sébastien Bouchard painted a portrait of the person who manages the emergency accommodation in connection with 115 (five rooms on the top floor of the building). This temporary artistic and solidarity wasteland in Nantes also organizes events.
Mural in collaboration with Tanala / Echo Festival
Le Loroux Bottereau, France, 2022
The Echo Festival was born from the desire to take advantage of the exceptional setting of the former Loroux Bottereau Hospital to invite artists to take over the space. More than thirty local artists and collectives participated through graffiti, painting, stenciling, collage, three-dimensional creation, and screen printing.
By happy coincidence, this maternity ward is also the birthplace of Sébastien Bouchard, who, with Tanala, creates a new version of the Asian Madonna, with Byzantine and natural attributes.
Heritage Days / Feydeau Collective

The residents’ collective of Feydeau Island, a historic district of Nantes with a heritage linked to the Atlantic triangular trade, invited Sébastien Bouchard to the “Heritage Days” event to place his painting collages in the courtyards and on the walls of buildings.
Operation Doves / Doctors of the World

To celebrate its 35th anniversary, the association has chosen an artist, in each city where it operates, to create a mural inspired by the dove, the emblem of Doctors of the World.
In Nantes, the artist Sébastien Bouchard, known for his urban and politically engaged works, imagined and painted a work centered around a sub-Saharan face and a bird’s wing.

“Medium” / Murs-Mur

Commissioned by the owner of a former upholsterer’s workshop converted into an office, Sébastien Bouchard and LLoeil created the “Medium” wall canvas, a contemporary and colorful nod to Flandrin’s “La Florentine”, a painting kept at the Nantes art museum.
