Mural created in September 2025.
The location where we work always shapes the artwork. This traditional washhouse (lavoir) in the Corzent district of Thonon-les-Bains is a true haven of stone, water, and tranquility. Here, Sébastien Bouchard painted an interpretation of a detail from the sculpture Le Rêve (The Dream) by Marguerite Peltzer (1897–1991), an artist who bequeathed her studio’s collection to the city.
The space becomes almost like a small chapel—a Zen sanctuary where the sound of water welcomes local residents and strollers heading down to Lake Geneva.
